Deliveries Policy

How crop share deliveries work at Community Harvest Whetstone.

Collection is the norm

Crop shares are collected from the farm. Collection days are part of the life of the co-operative — a chance to see where your food is grown and to meet the people who grow it. We do not offer delivery as a general service.

Volunteer deliveries under special circumstances

Some of our volunteers kindly offer to deliver shares to members under special circumstances — for example, where illness, disability, caring responsibilities, or a lack of transport makes collection genuinely difficult.

Because deliveries depend entirely on the goodwill and availability of volunteers, they cannot be guaranteed, and the number of deliveries we can support at any one time is limited.

Delivery is charged at £6 per month.

How to apply

If you wish to apply for delivery, write your reasons for needing it in the delivery box on the membership application form, or contact the committee if you are already a member. Each request is considered by the committee on its own circumstances.

Arrangements are reviewed from time to time, and we may ask whether your circumstances have changed. If a volunteer is no longer available we will let you know as soon as we can.
